Get a Student Involved in the YEA! Program
Xelerate COO, Kelly Jensen, holds a Board Position on the Greater Philadelphia Foundation for Women Entrepreneurs (GPFWE); a 501c(3) non-profit organization formed in 2009 by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) to provide educational, leadership and research opportunities for both emerging and established women entrepreneurs. The GPFWE fosters a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation by developing programs that have a transformational impact on the community.
In 2014, the GPFWE introduced the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!
) to the Philadelphia Region. YEA! is a year-long program that grants middle and high school students the opportunity to learn how to establish and run their own businesses. Over the last 10 years, YEA! has graduated over 1500 students nationally who have created over 1000 businesses. YEA! is currently looking for students, investors and supporters for the 2016 class.
GPFWE goes above and beyond its mission by continuing to seek opportunities to increase entrepreneurship in the Greater Philadelphia Region.
